On the corner of High Street and Crescent Drive sits PAUL bakery and restaurant, our little taste of France in Melrose Arch. The night of the PAUL launch was festive, with jugglers and mimes, champagne and live music – it was everything you’d hope for and more, making it one of the most memorable launches of 2017 so far.
Already a hit, the restaurant shows a lot of promise and plans to be loyal and accommodating to the South African customer. “It’s great to open a restaurant but it’s better to stay. We want to be here for a long time” said CEO, Maxime Holder.
Holder expressed that he and his family plan to leave a little of their hearts in the country, as the country has left a mark on their hearts.”
With a plan to open five restaurants in five years across the country, we can expect to taste a little bit of France in the major stops in South Africa soon.
Having launched a couple weeks ago, the restaurant has been fully packed ever since – and with good reason. It’s almost as if you can taste the comfort of a family in every meal, and each pastry is crafted in plain sight, making each bite of that croissant a little more magical.
