Moments in fashion which, undeniably define an era in time are the most tear-jerking ones. They are a refreshing breakaway from the instability of the industries ever changing ideas and trends. When Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, introduced the Dionysus bag in 2015 – no one had the foresight as to how iconic the bag would become.
Giving new life to Gucci’s horseshoe, Michele transformed it into a double tiger head-ended closure – an ode to Greek god Dionysus. On its own, the purse is gorgeously classic but when customized with embroidered patches of the animal kingdom – it is sensational.
For over a year, fans all over the globe have been able to personalise their Dionysus purses with butterflies, bees, dragonflies, snakes, peonies and Swarovski crystals. Gucci even launched a DIY service to help clients physically meet their minds creativity.
